forever oddDean Koontz
Bantam
2005

Set six months after what transpired in Odd Thomas, Odd is still in mourning over the death of his soul mate Stormy. However, his best friend was just kidnapped by a crazy lady and taken to an old abandoned hotel in the middle of the California desert. Now Odd must traverse dangers both physical and metaphysical in order to save his friend and make it back alive…

Having already become smitten with Koontz’s breakout character Odd Thomas from the first novel, I snarffed this second entry in what seems to be a possible ongoing series (or at least a trilogy, as the third book is already out in hardcover at the time of this writing) in a matter of hours. It’s a bit shorter than the first, and like most Koontz novels, the story clips along at a fine pace. However, I got the sense that the story here was a bit less than what it could have been, but still Forever Odd was an enjoyable yarn…
