First full-length release from one of Tooth & Nail’s more legendary bands on the roster, Rusty is 16 tracks of fast metal-tinged pop punk. Not bad, really. I like this, for the simple fact that Slick Shoes have been unashamed about letting their metal influences show in their punk rock. I throw this on once in a while when I need that snotty punk fix with some fast guitar parts. Lyrics are very much bleeding-heart Christian (love the song “By What Right”). The last tune, “Represent”, breaks into a riff from Ratt’s “Lay It Down”, which I found rather amusing. Nice surprise, there…otherwise, one of the few Tooth & Nail punk bands I listen to…
